Fishing at Fitzgerald's Paulk Park & BeyondBecause Fitzgerald sits on top of one of the largest freshwater aquifers in America, ponds and lakes are plentiful. The Fitzgerald-Ben Hill DLS maintains a 5-acre lake at Paulk Park stocked with bream, largemouth bass, and catfish for your fishing pleasure. Whether fishing from the shoreline or in your small boat, you can relax knowing your day is about to get better. Fishing license required.
Additionally, the Ocmulgee River flows a mere ten miles north of the city limits. The Ben Hill County Landing on Mobley Bluff Road off of Highway 107 East is a wooded, natural setting for camping, barbecues, fishing, and boating (boat launch) with 20 primitive campsites and 15 campsites with water and electricity (30 amp).
