About UsThe Fitzgerald-Ben Hill Department of Leisure Services was started in 1974 with a grant from the Soil & Water Conservation Fund. Since that time the DLS has grown to include 10 parks, a pool, a skeet shooting range, and several rental facilities. As a joint service of the city and county, the Fitzgerald-Ben Hill Department of Leisure Services (DLS) is charged with the supervision and direction of countywide recreational activities. It is supported by city & county taxes, activity & rental fees, and sponsorship fees. Our mission is to provide, establish, maintain, and conduct City/County-wide leisure services programming; to maintain such activities that contribute to individuals physical, mental, social, and spiritual growth, and by such other means as may aid in the accomplishment of this purpose. The Fitzgerald-Ben Hill Department of Leisure Services is a member of the Georgia Recreation & Parks Association and the National Recreation & Parks Association. |
