Senior Programs
The Fitzgerald-Ben Hill DLS, along with the Ben Hill County Senior Citizen's Center has become a local leader in organizing and promoting senior activities in Fitzgerald and Ben Hill County. The DLS is the direct sponsor of the Spring & Fall Senior Fish Fry's and the Senior Christmas Luncheon. These events are held at the Senior Citizen's Building and are open to all seniors.
Under the direction of Cathy Posey, the Ben Hill County Senior Citizen's Center provides the following services to Ben Hill County Residents age 60 and over:
- Coordinate and provide senior activities (quilting, Bingo, etc.) and services (nutrition program, etc.)
- Host meetings of AARP, Retired Teachers, Garden Clubs, Bridge Groups, Class Reunions
- Singles Dance
- Periodic health screenings
- Hearing Aid Services
- Health Fairs
