Historic Preservation

Fitzgerald passed a Historic preservation ordinance in 1989 designating districts and procedures for determining appropriateness. The board meets quarterly or more often as needed. Most of downtown, S Lee and W Central are in historic districts (map of local historic district & map of downtown commercial historic district).
