Pink Ladies/Redcoat
The Pink Ladies and Redcoats volunteer at the Dorminy Medical Center in Fitzgerald, Ga. They maintain both gift shops and greet & welcome incoming visitors. They help out in both the Oncology and OB/GYN clinics, as well as Same Day Surgery. The Pink Ladies serve wherever they're needed - Blood Mobile, community projects, answering phones, and other duties requested by the hospital staff. They also visit patients and offer magazines to pass the time.
Become a Pink Lady/Redcoat:
Become a Pink Lady/Redcoat:
- must be at least 21 years of age
- obtain an application from the Main Gift Shop (front entrance)
- provide 3 non-family references
- able to walk from front of hospital to rear
- able to push patients in wheelchair to appointment area
- able to work on your selected day (or half-day)
- dues are $5/year
- 8 hours of training provided by Pink Lady
- monthly meetings (last Monday of each month)
- a minimum of 50 hours of service per year required
- some immunizations required (given by hospital at no cost)
- man telephones when requested
