Born
in East Germany in 1963, Axel started playing the guitar when he was
six. His first influence was Muddy Waters. He still plays a 1960's
Telecaster just like the one he saw Muddy play. Axel has shared the
stage with legendary bluesmen like Stevie Ray Vaughn, and B. B. King.
Dr. Slide has been living in the U. S. for the past eight years and
has become a fixture on the local blues scene. His shows combine original
material with some rarely heard covers of the "legends". His sets
are a combination of acoustic "dobro" with an occasional electrical
number on his vintage Telecaster.

Charles
Atkins and the Blues Boys Band crank out the kind of big-voiced jump-shuffle
blues generally associated with artist like Little Milton and Bobby
Blue Bland. Charles learned his craft at the Florida School for the
Deaf and Blind in St. Augustine, just like Ray Charles before him.
He has played with well known artists such as Sam and Dave, and Gregg
and Duane Allman. Their live performances prove to be more than just
another blues show and Atkins powerful voice is the eye of this hurricane.

Eric
Culberson is a phenomenal guitar player and vocalist who hails from
Savannah Georgia. He was voted "Best Blues Guitarist" in Savannah
two years running. His electric/Texas blues style reintroduces to
the public what guitar sounded like in an era dominated by the likes
of Freddy King and Albert Collins. Eric's live shows are equally stunning.
If you haven't seen him live, you are missing one of today's best
up and coming blues artists on the national scene.

"Steady
Rollin" Bob Margolin is one of the leading torchbearers of Chicago
blues. 47-year-old Margolin spent seven years playing alongside Muddy
Waters. His guitar style bears all the charming idiosyncrasies of
his mentor, but at the same time Margolin has managed to develop his
own style that fuses Muddy Waters tradi-tionalism with a young man's
restlessness…equal parts deep blues expression and contemporary flash.

The
Maryland based Nighthawks have an extensive history. Starting in the
70's, they criss-crossed the country spreading their version of roots
rock, soul, rockabilly and blues. They were considered touring pioneers
since only a handful of Chicago bluesmen were touring nationally.
Over the years the Nighthawks have acquired a reputation as a solid
back-up band, playing with such notables as Pinetop Perkins, John
Hammond, John Lee Hooker, Otis Rush, and Muddy Waters just to name
a few.

Tracy
Nelson is now in the fourth decade of her professional career. Nelson's
stature in country and blues circles is all the more remarkable considering
that her reputation as one of America's premier vocalists rests largely
on her potent rock and rhythm and blues work. Tracy has been a Grammy
nominee and a finalist at the W. C. Handy blues awards.
