Welcome to Fitzgerald, GA
Where America Reunited

Founded in 1896 by Civil War Union and Confederate Veterans who worked side by side to create a city, the town reveals its history at every turn. Blue and gray sidewalks celebrate its Civil War roots and streets are named for Yank and Reb generals. Evergreen Cemetery commemorates Yanks and Rebs "resting side by side." The Blue & Gray Museum tells the founding story in a documentary film and displays rare memorabilia of the City's earliest years.

There are wonderful discoveries throughout the community - an Antique Fire Engine Museum, remarkable architecture reflecting the hundreds of Midwesterners who were the earliest settlers, and lots of flowering parks and plazas beckon you to enjoy the ambiance of small-town America!

You'll find lovely families staffing restaurants where southern cooking and home-baked goodies whet your appetite. Nationally known lodging choices, plus an elegant private bed and breakfast, and interesting antique and unique shopping spots are all part of the Fitzgerald Experience.

Stop by the Office of Tourism for guides and maps to all of Fitzgerald's treasures!
