Hunting and Fishing

fisherman.jpgThere is no better place in Georgia for pleasant outdoor recreation. The moderate climate and extended seasons create perfect conditions for hunting and fishing throughout the entire year.

Because Fitzgerald sits on top of one of the largest freshwater aquifers in America, ponds and lakes are plentiful. Also, the Ocmulgee River flows a mere ten miles north of the city limits. Local specialities are catfish, largemouth bass, and plenty of high-quality bream. Private clubs in Ben Hill County feature prime hunting for quail, doves, and deer.
