| The citizens of Fitzgerald certainly know how to have a good time.
From the Corn and Cotton Palace celebration soon after its founding
to the gigantic remembrance of the city's 100th birthday in 1996,
Fitzgerald delights in community fellowship. |

- Georgia Harmony Jubilee: A week long festival
with a performance of "Our Friends, The Enemy". which
tells the Fitzgerald's founding story. Other events include various
kinds of music, arts & crafts market place, historical events, food
& more.
- Colony City Chase--Hundreds
of participants will pin numbers on their backs and wait for the crack
of the gun signaling the start of this race through the streets and
neighborhoods of Fitzgerald. The Fitzgerald Rotary Club is the proud
sponsor of this event.
- Wild Chicken Festival
-- Downtown Fitzgerald -- Sponsored by Fitzgerald Jaycees and the Downtown

- Christmas Parade--On the
first Thursday in December, eager holiday revelers line Fitzgerald's
thoroughfares as floats, bands, and various performing groups herald
the arrival of the holiday season. The event is co-sponsored by the
DBA and the Chamber of Commerce..
- Fourth of July Celebration--This
day-long, old-fashioned observance features contests, music groups,
gymnasts, boat races, a vast array of flea market and craft booths,
a salute to industry, and, of course, a late evening fireworks display.
The annual event, sponsored by the American Legion, takes place at Fitzgerald's
Paulk Park.
- Grand Homecoming--A tri-annual week-long celebration
& reunion of Fitzgerald's African-American Heritage, including classes
from Queensland, Monitor and Fitzgerald High.
