Welcomes the World In an effort to expose the citizens to unique
cultural events, the Arts Council sponsors events that showcase famous entertainers
and renowned ensembles. Theatrical productions featuring well-known actors, as
well as musical performances range from symphonic to pop.
The Council also wins young people over to the arts. From science shows
with "Dr. I. Wonder" to storytelling, a wide array of activities
allows children to express themselves through different artistic and cultural
media.
Big on Local
Talent The citizenry of Fitzgerald is blessed with an abundance
of local talent, and the Arts Council seeks to display and showcase this treasure. From the beautiful creations of master carvers C.M. Copeland
and Randy Anthony to the awe-inspiring pieces of Ronald Goodman and David Malcolm,
native visual artists represent their home well. The Council maintains an Artist
Spotlight in its office and visual arts exhibits (both local and visiting) in
the library.
Also, the Colony Art Gallery, located on the corner of Pine and Grant Streets,
houses the work of over forty area artists.
The Grand Theatre provides the
perfect home for local performing groups. Band and choral concerts as well as
community theatre productions continually pack the house. Arts
